A dynamic golf and mentorship program crafted to empower the next generation of women leaders by integrating Future Business Leaders of Spelman’s existing initiative with the Diamond Membership network of Ladies Who Golf.

Through the game of golf, the program fosters meaningful mentorship, professional networking, personal growth, and leadership development; equipping participants with the tools and connections to thrive on and off the course.

Mentorship and Networking Model

Together we are changing the golf landscape.

  • Monthly Golf Session at John A. White Golf Course

  • Golf session led by Morehouse College Head Golf Coach, Edgar Evans Jr. and golf team.

  • Social Hour: Rotating business professionals host industry chats.

  • 2:1 mentor-mentee pairings. Mentors selected from LWG Diamond Club with diverse backgrounds in the following industries:

    • Sports

    • Entertainment

    • Marketing

    • Law

    • Real Estate

  • Supplemental mentor engagement beyond scheduled sessions such a charitable engagements.

  • Secondary monthly touchpoints with Diamond Members for additional exposure and support.

  • $1,000 End of Program Scholarship Opportunity.

  • This program is fully sponsored by Ladies Who Golf Inc.

Golf Session Itinerary

Warm Months: John A. White Golf Course

Winter Months: PGA Superstore or Five Iron Midtown

Coordination with Spelman’s transportation department and FBLS rideshare plans.

Participation Agreement Required for FBLS Mentees

  • Max 1 excused/unexcused absence per academic year.

  • Must attend at least 2 community service events.

  • Maintain active mentor communication outside of golf sessions.

  • Signed acknowledgment of expectations and responsibilities.

Marketing and Branding

Branding Initiatives

  • Custom lapel pins: “Future Business Leaders of Golf”

  • Co-branded golf course materials (range signs, feather flags, golf cart signs)

Social Media and Promotion

  • FBLS logo co-branded on all marketing content.

  • Final approval from Spelman’s marketing team required for branded items and posts.

Define End of Program Scholarship, eligibility, and next academic cycle - LWG

1. Purpose: To recognize and support a young woman who has demonstrated outstanding growth, leadership, commitment to the game of golf, and excellence in applying the life and business skills gained through the FBLS program.

2. Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must have successfully completed the full FBLS 8-week program in the current year.

  • Must be an active participant in all golf training sessions and life skills workshops.

  • Must maintain good standing with school attendance and academics.

  • Must submit a short essay (300–500 words) or a 2-minute video answering:

    “How has the FBLS Golf Program shaped your confidence, goals, and vision for your future?”

  • Must have participated in at least two charitable initiative or volunteer activity

  • Must submit a letter of recommendation from either a FBLS coach, mentor, or school counselor.

3. Scholarship Award:

  • A one-time financial award $500 that can be used toward continuing education expenses.

  • The recipient could be recognized at an end-of-year gathering or showcase event.

  • Highlight her story on your website and social channels to inspire future participants.
